I think I agree with the commenter on the first episode who said the player factions should be more different. Or rather, I think the flavor text for research should be more different. I can picture the Fallen Soldier saying he liked smaller cities, and MAYBE the Tribunal saying the same, but NOT the Aristocrat or the Emulated Mind (I still don't know if the EM would even have autonomous subjects that talk to her, or just control everyone like the Borg Queen).

A Spellweaver of Life with lifebloom and a few Earth Bloods could really help.

First time I got to zero upkeep I started making dragonspam armies to protect my forests, I had other armies doing the actual fighting. I just wanted a billion free dragons because why not...

That could have gone better with the Zephon. LOL.

Played the DEMO, totally better than Gladius

I don't know if its the same as in Gladius, but you often have a lot of wounded units just standing around. Can't they rest to recover, like in Gladius?

They're called Non-Playable Factions.

"Trapped" and "Resource Network" are traits for the Emulated Mind. You can find them in the top-right next to the turn count. The different factions will initially like or dislike you based upon those traits.

So Noctilus lives on the Great sphincter? That can't be great for tourism...

I remember losing that battle with a low level army because of that damage aura, and Janet does it with half an army and doesn't even notice the effect...

The more I see of this game, the more I like the art direction and writing; It feels like someone took the TV show Defiance and turned the "grimness" and "depression" dials all the way to max setting. I also love the small details, like the infantrymen actually getting their shields once you research them. It's a small detail but says a lot about the devs' love for their product.

it looks like the enemy factions assess your relative position in the world when you share maps, including your military strength compared with them at that time. If they see you as relatively weak, they declare war. That looks like what happened with both the Anchorite and the Zephon before.

The naming sheme is from christian/jewish mythology.

Progress has been made. O, and Janet, the 'data hack' did work. You got an extra +5 from that when you where earning 20, so an extra 25 percent.

I think hijack applies on the death of the mechanical unit, not the death of the reaver? That's how I interpret it anyway.

The High Elves would also make a decent candidate for Cavalry heavy armies because the Princes has a lord trait (Dashing) that buffs Silver Helms and Ellyrian Reavers, which can be further buffed by either a Noble of Handmaiden with the Crushing trait. The High Elves are probably one of the best races for creating "meme stacks" because the higher influence cost traits of the Prince and Princess buff certain units, the only downside is that you have to farm influence to get them. You can of course cheese the influence system by using the save and load character system because character loaded into a different campaign do not cost influence.

42:14 Might be a bit late, but the Adeptus Mechanicus had benefited from two unit packs at the time this run was recorded and all of the other units are from the race pack. The Skitarii Rangers in the Escalation Pack and Kataphron Breachers in the Firepower Pack.

Yeah we picked this demo up after playing Gladius too, very very similar, but definitely a more polished and better looking game overall. But will we trade the 40k universe for that? idk!

Don't forget you can buy and sell resources using influence at the concordat. That could help get more chips early on.

I'm glad you decided to fight that first battle, that was just good fun to watch.
